The Winterslow Corona Virus Community Support Group has been formed to support Winterslow and surrounding communities. Please see news Item above.
Winterslow Corona Virus Community Support Group
This group was started on Friday 13th March 2020. I felt we as a village and surrounding communities needed a platform to communicate as a single point of contact. It now has 168 members which does not surprise me because we have a wonderful community spirit in the area.
The first important role was to leaflet the village to give reassurance by providing a contact point. Areas of the village still need coverage. Volunteers have offered to collect prescriptions, groceries, posting mail, get urgent supplies, dog walking or a friendly phone call.
We soon are going to have large number of people self isolating so this is going to be a invaluable route of contact.
So please join the group apologies for the long title but it is specific to “Winterslow Corona Virus Community Support Group” or contact me on email@example.com 01980 863975 or 07709 509699.
I have also started a Whatsapp group.

Sport and physical activity to play a major part in Salisbury 2020: A City on the Move celebrations
Sport and physical activity is to play a major part in celebrating Salisbury 2020: A City on the Move.
Launching today, Thursday 27th February, individuals and clubs in Salisbury can apply for funding to support training for new coaches (Project 20) and to host events that can be part of Salisbury 2020: A City on the Move (Club Grant).
The programme is a collaboration between Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) and Salisbury City Council.
teve Boocock CEO of WASP said “As part of Salisbury 2020: A City on the Move, Project 20 gives us a great opportunity to recruit and develop more coaches for Salisbury. The funding will support people in gaining skills and qualifications that in turn will enable more people to get active and take part in sport”.
he Salisbury 2020 funding (Club Grant) also gives schools, clubs and groups the opportunity to play their part in the Festival by hosting events, festivals, open days or other events that offer opportunities to take part in physical activities, echoing the strength and endeavour required to build a new cathedral.
In addition, 2020 will see a Sports Market in the heart of the city during August, allowing clubs to interact with the public to increase access to sports in Salisbury. City on the Move will also support the development of the Salisbury Sports and Activity Forum.
Cllr Jeremy Nettle, the Leader of Salisbury City Council said “Salisbury has an established wide diversity of sport clubs and groups and we want to see that continue to grow and flourish. Our Sports Market later this year will give clubs an opportunity to showcase their sport to our residents”
Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) and Salisbury City Council are founding partners for the Salisbury 2020 A City on the Move and are leading the physical activity pillar to give as many people as possible the opportunity to take part in sport and physical activities.
