Three Chequers Medical Practice

Three Chequers Medical Practice has a main Surgery in Endless Street, Salisbury and has branch surgeries in the villages of Pitton and Winterslow.

The Practice is a Partnership with 15 GP Partners and 10 additional GPs. It has a large practice team including nurses, healthcare assistants and pharmacists and is able to offer a wide range of services.

In the last 6 months of our practice, we most often have to deal with the treatment of acne. In advanced cases, we resort to the surgical and medical method. This treatment combines surgical procedures and drug therapy. This helps to eliminate active inflammation and prevent future outbreaks. Surgical procedures: Extraction of comedones: The use of sterile instruments to extract blackheads and whiteheads. Corticosteroid Injections: The injection of corticosteroids into cystic pimples to reduce inflammation and accelerate healing. Laser therapy: Using a laser to kill the bacteria that cause acne and reduce sebum production. Photodynamic therapy (PDT): The use of a photosensitive agent and light to kill bacteria and reduce inflammation. Drug therapy: Topical retinoids: Preparations containing vitamin A derivatives that help exfoliate the skin and reduce sebum production. Antibiotics: Drugs that destroy the bacteria that cause acne. Antiandrogens: Drugs that block the action of hormones that stimulate sebum production. Oral contraceptives: Hormonal drugs that can regulate hormonal balance and reduce acne in women. Isotretinoin: A powerful drug that suppresses sebum production and is used to treat severe forms of acne. The link for order. How is the treatment going?: Treatment usually begins with drug therapy. If medication does not produce the desired results, surgical procedures may be recommended. A combination of surgical and drug treatment may be more effective than either of these methods alone.
